MESSAGE FROM OUR EXECUTIVE MEDICAL DIRECTOR

At the Southern California Permanente Medical Group (SCPMG), we believe our model of physician-led, high-quality, integrated care is the answer to health care in America.

Dr. Ed Ellison, Kaiser PermanenteWe practice ethical, evidence-based medicine — keeping our patients at the center, delivering high-quality care with compassion and heart. We value ongoing learning, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

When you join SCPMG, you become part of a community of physicians with a 60-year legacy of improving our patients’ total health. As an organization, we have grown and thrived along with Southern California. Today we provide care to more than 4 million members — a membership that reflects the vibrant ethnic and cultural diversity of the region. Consequently, we embrace diversity in our workforce, promoting a culture that welcomes and values everyone’s unique talents, viewpoints, and backgrounds. In 2015, Kaiser Permanente ranked second on Diversity, Inc.’s ‘Top 50 Companies for Diversity.’

One of the most unique things about SCPMG is that we are an autonomous, physician-led, self-governing partnership. Associate physicians are eligible for partnership after three years, becoming an owner of our medical group. All partner and associate physicians enjoy representation on our Board of Directors through their elected board members. Each partner has an equal voice in determining what’s best for the group.

There are many more advantages to joining SCPMG. In addition to being one of the premier medical groups in the country at which to practice medicine, we offer rewarding opportunities to be involved in research, medical education, and humanitarian efforts. The financial security that we offer our partners and their loved ones, both during their career and in retirement, is second to none.

I hope you will explore the many opportunities offered by a career at SCPMG. Looking back, I know that I — like so many of my colleagues — made the right decision to join the Southern California Permanente Medical Group.

Warm regards,
Ed
